About

Miss Carmel Noonan is an experienced ophthalmologist originally from southern Ireland with a wealth of experience in both general eye care and more specialized procedures like cataract surgery.

Her areas of interest are:

  • neuro-ophthalmology,

  • ocular motility,

  • general ophthalmology,

  • cataract surgery.

Miss Noonan is based at Spire Cheshire Hospital and completed her medical degree and training in Dublin before spending two years in Boston, USA at Harvard Medical School. Upon returning to the UK, she undertook senior registrar training in Liverpool before becoming a consultant ophthalmologist in Warrington.

In 2009, she moved to Aintree University Hospital, where she has been working for the past 10 years. She undertakes at least two complex cataract lists each week.
