About

Mr Moussa studied at Birmingham University and carried out higher education in the West Midlands. He’s completed two surgical retina fellowships at the Birmingham Midland Eye Centre and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital.

 He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals, and has received numerous awards for his research. He specialises in complex cataracts, ocular trauma and lens implant problems (decentred and dislocated implants), and complex diabetic eye disease. Other interests include diseases of the retina and vitreous, retinal detachments, and macular disorders.

As well as his surgical role with Newmedica, Mr Moussa is a consultant ophthalmologist at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, where he’s the chief clinical information officer responsible for developing innovations for digital record keeping.

With his extensive training and research involvement, patients can be confident they’re receiving the best possible care. Mr Moussa fully involves his patients in their care, and delivers a holistic, compassionate approach through excellent communication and surgical experience.

Away from work, Mr Moussa plays the piano and guitar, and loves to hike and scuba dive.
