About

Mr Haider Zaki graduated from the University of Baghdad in 2009 and trained in Ophthalmology in Iraq and the UK. He completed his Membership exams with the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2016 and his Fellowship exams with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in London in 2021. He holds a Master’s degree with distinction in Ophthalmology from the University of Manchester, completed in 2017, and finished his training at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield. Mr Zaki is currently a substantive consultant ophthalmologist at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

As the Oculoplastics lead at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Zaki specialises in eyelid surgery (including blepharoplasty, droopy eyelid correction), reconstructive surgery and cancer removal around the eyelids, facial palsy, watery eyes, and Botox injections. He also carries out cataract surgeries, ranging from routine to complex cases.

Mr Zaki teaches as an honorary lecturer at the University of Sheffield and contributes as a faculty member and examiner at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.

He is a member of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is registered with the General Medical Council. He is also an Eye Health Champion at the Royal National Institute of Blind People and has volunteered with the Iraq Health Aid Organisation during wartime.

Mr Zaki values the combination of art and surgical skill in oculoplastics, particularly in reconstructing eyelids after cancer removal. He is dedicated to providing bespoke, up-to-date care to each patient. He prioritises clear communication, offering all treatment options and involving patients in every step of their care. Understanding each patient's needs is central to delivering high-quality, personalised service.
