About

Mr James Tildsley is an experienced Ophthalmology Consultant. He graduated in 2002 in Medicine from the University of Aberdeen. Following his foundation training he then went on to undertake is specialist ophthalmology training in 2004, gaining ten years of experience across cities including Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Nottingham. As part of his training he also completed 18 months subspecialty training in advanced medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Following completion of his extensive training, he achieved consultant staus in 2013. In January 2022 he was appointed Clinical Director for Ophthalmology for Derby and Burton NHS Trust.

As part of his practice, Mr Tildsley performs cataract surgery, including complex cataract surgery. He also treats glaucoma, offering solutions such as laser treatment including YAG peripheral iridotomies and selective laser trabeculoplasties. He offers a range of private surgical assessments and treatment.
