About

Miss Kaveri Mandal is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at NewMedica Shrewsbury and Spire Cheshire Hospital.

She has interests in the following areas:

  • age-related macular degeneration,

  • diabetic retinopathy refractive lens surgery ,

  • clear lens surgery,

  • inflammatory eye diseases ,

  • cataract surgery.

After completing her medical degree in India, Miss Mandal went on to work at hospitals in the UK, including Sunderland Eye Infirmary and Royal Victoria Hospital, before completing registrar training at Royal Liverpool Hospital. Following this, she became a fellow at Bristol Eye Infirmary, where she was able to develop her expertise in treating medical retina and uveitis patients.

Miss Mandal has been a consultant working with Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS since 2009, where she is the lead for medical retina and uveitis. She is also a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, a college tutor, and a microsurgery trainer.
