About
Mr. James Bacon is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon who, in addition to his role at Newmedica, is a substantive consultant at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where he serves as the glaucoma service director. Prior to this, he held the position of consultant ophthalmologist and clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.
He specialises in cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as performing YAG laser capsulotomy. Mr. Bacon treats patients with glaucoma using a full range of available modalities, including medical therapies, selective laser trabeculoplasty, laser iridotomy, angle surgery with stents, and glaucoma drainage surgery.
Mr. Bacon is also passionate about the education of the next generation of ophthalmologists and has been appointed as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists tutor for postgraduate trainees.
