A year of commitment to reducing wait times

At Newmedica, we're proud of the positive impact we have on patients' lives through the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care. With the arrival of a new year, it's the perfect time to reflect on our performance, to see if we've continued to meet our vision of changing lives through better sight and eye health. With over 293,000 patient appointments completed in 2024, we’ve significantly contributed to reducing waiting times while maintaining our exceptional standards of care.

This year, we proudly supported over 293,000 patient appointments, including:

• Over 209,000 cataract appointments

• Over 24,000 glaucoma appointments

• Over 25,000 laser appointments

• Over 14,000 macular appointments

• Over 8,000 oculoplastics procedures

New openings

This year, we’ve expanded our reach even further, opening clinics in Bracknell, Bradford, Bromsgrove, Darlington, Guernsey, Harrogate, Manchester West, Suffolk, Telford, and West Cheshire. These new locations allow us to bring our exceptional care closer to even more patients.

Partnering with Sight Research UK

Newmedica is proud to have partnered with Sight Research UK’s campaign, ‘Brightening Lives through Vision Research,’ in December. To amplify the impact, we pledged to match all donations made by the end of December, up to £10,000. The funds raised will help advance critical research to fight sight loss faster, bringing hope for brighter futures.

• I have had 2 cataract removals this year. The experience was excellent both times. Every member of staff was helpful, explaining exactly what was happening. After the 1st removal I was able to drive within 2 days and see clearly. The 2nd eye recovery has been much slower but am coping quite well.
