I felt very safe when I was there. There were no fears about COVID. It’s all very professional and well organised. I can’t praise them enough.
June’s story
Read storyThe following policy supports the requirements of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and sets out how New Medical Systems Limited (Trading as Newmedica) and its associated Ophthalmic Joint Ventures (OJV) maintain effective systems and processes for responding to patient safety incidents for the purpose of learning and improving patient safety.
The PSIRF advocates a co-ordinated and data-driven response to patient safety incidents. It embeds patient safety incident response within a wider system of improvement and prompts a significant cultural shift towards organisational systematic patient safety management.
This policy supports and promotes the four key aims of the PSIRF:
Compassionate engagement and involvement of those affected by patient safety incidents.
Application of a range of system-based approaches to learning from patient safety incidents.
Considered and proportionate responses to patient safety incidents and safety issues.
Supportive oversight focused on strengthening response system functioning and improvement.
This policy should be read in conjunction with our Patient Safety Incident Response Plan.
New Medical Systems Limited (Trading as Newmedica) is delighted to present its first Patient Safety Incident Response Plan. The plan sets out how we (including our managed services) and our associated 19 Ophthalmic Joint Ventures (OJVs) will respond to patient safety incidents over the next 12 months, in line with the principles of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
